Home of the '98 National Ice Hockey Champions - the Canberra Knights, the centre is on the main intercity bus route or just a short walk from Woden Town Centre.

Facilities include a full size ice rink, a heated 50 metre eight lane swimming pool and two smaller pools for younger children. The toddler's pool features an attractive solar protection canopy.

Since opening in 1980, ice skating has proved to be extremely popular with local and national school excursions. The centre offers special rates for school and tourist groups.

There is a free waterslide for the children and a video game for those who do not wish to skate or swim.

There are public barbeque facilities and a kiosk stocking hot and cold snack food and drinks, confectionery and ice creams.
